The service

CaptionsThis transcribes audio and video you upload, aligns the transcript to the audio, and lets you edit and export the result as SRT or FCPXML. Some use is available without an account, and some requires signing in. Details of what each tier includes are on the pricing page.

Accounts

You can sign in with a Google account or with a one-time email link. You are responsible for the files you upload and for keeping access to your account secure. We reserve the right to suspend an account used to abuse the service, including circumventing rate limits or reselling access.

Payment and credits

Paid credit packs are one-time purchases and do not expire. Checkout is handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as merchant of record for these transactions, meaning Lemon Squeezy, not Open Ground Atlas, is the seller you are contracting with for payment processing, invoicing, and applicable tax collection. Our refund policy governs when a purchase can be refunded.

Your content

You retain ownership of any audio, video, and transcript you upload or create with the service. You are responsible for having the rights needed to transcribe and use that content. Audio is sent to third-party transcription infrastructure to be processed and is not retained by us once processing completes; edits you make are stored locally in your browser rather than on our servers.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to process content you do not have the right to process, to attempt to disrupt or overload the infrastructure it runs on, or to circumvent metering, rate limits, or payment.

Availability and changes

The service is provided as is, without guarantee of uninterrupted availability. Transcription accuracy depends on third-party models and is not guaranteed to be error-free. Features, pricing, and these terms may change; material changes to pricing will not affect credits already purchased.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Open Ground Atlas is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Korea, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute not resolved informally will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of South Korea.
